Information for Shipping to the United States

As of Friday, August 29, 2025, the United States has removed the de minimis exemption on tariffs.  This means that all orders going into the US are now subject to tariffs, regardless of the total cost of the order.  

We at Chibi's Anime are committed to continuing to provide our American customers with quality anime merchandise; however, it is important for our US customers to know what this means.  Going forward, any shipments from us will most likely be subject to tariffs and fees.  We do not pay these fees on the purchaser's behalf.  All duties and associated fees will be charged to the purchaser when their order crosses into the US and must be paid by the purchaser at that time in order to receive their shipment. 

It is important to note that the majority of anime merchandise is manufactured in China, despite the parent companies being Japanese.  As far as we understand, that means that, despite the fact that these items are shipping out of Canada, they will be subject to Chinese tariffs and will be taxed at a higher rate.  We don't know what the total cost of any duties owing would be; however, we have heard of cases where the cost of duties and associated fees have ended being significantly higher than the cost of the item itself.  We will do our best to answer any questions that people might have regarding what these costs might be, but we are not brokers and will not be able to provide accurate or up-to-date information.  We recommend reaching out to someone who does have that information in order to get the best advice.  

By placing an order with us, the purchaser is agreeing to pay any duties and fees owing.  In the event that the purchaser refuses to pay the duties owing and their order is returned, we will not refund your order.  It is important that the purchaser be aware of this before making their decision to place any orders.
